This page explains what cookies are, which cookies and similar technologies safewiz.eu uses, for what purpose, and how you can control them. The site operator is GAVRA BRINDUSA MARIA PFA (details in the Privacy Policy).
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a site stores in your browser. They help the site work, remember your preferences and measure how it is used. We also use similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage (localStorage).
Categories of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary (no consent required)
The site cannot work properly without them. They cannot be switched off in the site, but you can block cookies in your browser settings (some features, such as sign-in, will stop working).
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| pll_language | safewiz.eu (Polylang) | Remembers the chosen language (Romanian or English) | 1 year |
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* | safewiz.eu (WordPress) | Member authentication and keeping account settings | Session – 14 days |
| wordpress_test_cookie | safewiz.eu (WordPress) | Checks whether the browser accepts cookies, at sign-in | Session |
| sw_consent_v1 (localStorage) | safewiz.eu | Remembers your choice about statistics cookies | Until you delete it |
| cf_clearance, __cf_bm, cf_chl_* | Cloudflare | Security and bot protection (including the Turnstile check on registration and sign-in forms) | Session – 1 year |
2. Statistics (only with your consent)
Enabled only if you click “Accept” in the banner. They help us understand which articles are read and where visitors come from, in aggregated form.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors (anonymous identifier) | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps session state | 2 years |
| _clck, CLID, MUID | Microsoft Clarity | Anonymous visitor identifier, for aggregated statistics | Up to 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Links multiple page views to the same user session | 1 day |
Data is processed by Google and Microsoft, respectively. More details: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies and learn.microsoft.com/clarity/faq.
We use Microsoft Clarity to anonymously record how visitors use our pages (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling), so we can find what is not working well on the site. We do not record passwords; sensitive form fields are masked.
3. Payments
When you pay for digital products, Stripe may set its own cookies (for example __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid) for fraud prevention and to make the payment work. They are necessary to process the payment. Details: stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal.
How to manage your choice
- On the site: on your first visit a banner offers “Accept” and “Decline”. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page. If you decline, neither Google Analytics nor Microsoft Clarity receive data about your visit.
- In your browser: you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Deleting them also resets the choice made in the banner.
- Google Analytics: you can also install the official opt-out add-on.
